AR / Basic Carbine Class

Round Count – 400+ rounds of quality carbine ammunition.
Course Cost - $200
Length – 8 hours.
Equipment needed / recommended
o Eye and ear protection.
o Carbine (AR-15, M-4, PCC or AK) with sling.
Pistol caliber carbines (PCC) are also welcome.
Full size carbines are preferred
o Carbine sight - iron, red dot (recommended), halo graphic or scope
o Minimum of 2x30 round magazines with pouches; more is better (4-5).
o 400 rounds of quality ammunition (Additional ammunition is always recommended).
o Spare batteries for sights.
o A packed lunch and water bottle. Additional drinks are highly recommended.
o Weather-appropriate clothing (nothing low cut), hat, closed toed shoes.
o Belt, vest or chest rig to carry magazines.
o Optional - Knee pads, elbow pads, and shooting mat recommended.
Basic Carbine will Cover -
o Carbine Basics is perfect for new or inexperienced rifle firearm owners looking to become familiar with their
carbine platform.
o This course is designed to educate the student on the advantages of the carbine, the nomenclature and controls of the
carbine, basic maintenance procedures, techniques for zeroing the rifle and basic shooting fundamentals.
o This training also covers some firearm accessories, such as iron, halo graphic sights, scopes and red dot sights.
A red dot or halo graphic sight is recommended.
Please bring the user manual for your optics and carbine.
o Instructors will answer your carbine questions and make suggestions on equipment purchases & set up.
o This course consists of a lecture and range time. Instructors will demonstration and supervise shooting drills with
concentration on, dry-fire practice, obtaining a zero, and introducing the shooter to the basics of defensive shooting.
o Drills are tailored to develop confidence in use a rifle for self-defense.
o Safe use and storage of a carbine.
o Carbine operation and accessories.
o Basics of carbine ballistics.
o Fundamentals of marksmanship.
o Carbine manipulations: load, unload, immediate action, remedial action, corrective action.
o Zero from the prone or from a bench.
o Basic stance and body positions for shooting.
o Weapon inspection and maintenance.
o As time and training allows, we will incorporate movement and barriers.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - No previous training required.
o Participant must be at least 18 years old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
o Participants must be legally allowed to possess a firearm.
EXPECTATIONS - At the end of the course, participants will complete a validation shoot to measure their ability to apply fundamentals of marksmanship. The validation shoot also serves to identify areas of strength as well as areas that the shooter needs to improve on before progressing to additional levels of training.
AR / Carbine 101 Course
Round Count – 400+ rounds for Carbine: 100+ rounds for Pistol
Course Cost - $150
Length – 6 hr.
Equipment needed / recommended
o Eye and ear protection.
o Pistol (380-45 caliber, Semi-Auto 9mm preferred) (Concealed Carry, Full size, Duty weapon, etc)
o Holster (Hip, Concealed, Appendix drop leg, etc…) With an all-day class a padded belt will help.
o 2-3 Pistol Magazines required; more is better.
o Magazine Carriers (Sturdy Belt mounted – Minimum 2 pistol, 1 AR)
o Carbine (AR-15, M-4, PCC or AK) with sling.
Pistol caliber carbines (PCC) are also welcome.
Full size carbines are preferred
o Carbine sight - iron, red dot (recommended), halo graphic or scope; (Pistol Red Dot Sights allowed).
o Minimum of 2x30 round magazines with pouches; more is better (4-5).
o Minimum of 2-3 pistol magazines with pouches to carry on your body; more is better (4-5).
o 400+ rounds of quality carbine ammunition (Additional ammunition is always recommended).
o 100+ rounds of quality carbine ammunition (Additional ammunition is always recommended).
o Spare batteries for sights.
o A packed lunch and water bottle. Additional drinks are highly recommended.
o Weather-appropriate clothing (nothing low cut), hat, closed toed shoes.
o Belt with pistol holster, vest or chest rig to carry magazines. (Please avoid material or Blackhawk SERPA holsters)
o Optional - Knee pads, elbow pads, and shooting mat recommended.
Carbine 101 will Cover -
o Firearm transition between rifle and pistol.
o Reflexive fire with the pistol and carbine platform
o This course is designed to educate and introduce the student on advanced shooting skills with their rifle as their
primary firearm and the pistol as their secondary firearm and the extreme operation of the fundamentals for both.
o This training will also cover some firearm accessories, such as iron, halo graphic sights, scopes and red dot sights.
A red dot or halo graphic sight is recommended.

o Instructors will answer your pistol and carbine questions and make suggestions on equipment purchases & set up.
o This course consists of a lecture and range time. Instructors will demonstration and supervise shooting drills with
concentration on, basics of defensive shooting.
o Drills are tailored to develop confidence in use a rifle and pistol to compliment self-defense.
o Fundamentals of marksmanship.
o Down gun drills.
o Carbine manipulations: load, unload, immediate action, remedial action, corrective action.
o Basic stance and body positions for shooting.
o The course will involve shooting on the move and the use of barriers.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS -
Previous Pistol and Carbine training required.
o Participant must be at least 21 years (legal handgun owner) old, unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
o Participants must be legally allowed to possess a firearm.
EXPECTATIONS – This course is fast paced, physically demanding, and a lot of fun. We will cover, shooting positions, use
of barriers, loading techniques, use of optics, support side shooting, malfunctions, shooting while moving, target acquisition,
multiple target engagement and discrimination, and combination drills
Refund Policy
Security deposit is non-refundable if canceled by the student.
If Instructors cancel the class then students receive a full refund
Remainder of the fee is due at the beginning of the class
Class will be run whether rain or shine. Class may be canceled for severe inclement weather.
